Poppa* does not hear from Dodi as much since I got out of P. He got moved to a different facility and his last letter explains why he does not write as much. Dodi is in my daily Prayers. God is GOOD!~~~

Poppa* met Dodi back around 2008 or 2009. I was at the Neal Unit in Amarillo, Texas. I wanted some Pen Pals. Pen Pals are hard to come by for Inmates. Poppa* was beating the bushes hard. I had this friend, Ronnie, who was from Mississippi. He went by the nickname Arizona. Go figure! Haha. Well, Arizona had quite a few pen pals. And he wrote a lot of people who were incarcerated overseas. So, one day, he gave Poppa* the contact information for a guy who was incarcerated in Thailand. His name was Puskar.

I wrote Puskar and I never heard back from him. About 6 months later, Poppa* received a letter from Dodi. He knew Puskar and got my contact information from Puskar. Puskar didn't want to write Poppa*, but Dodi wanted a new friend, so we began exchanging letters. We wrote each other from 2008 until now.

I always loved getting long letters from Dodi because we exchanged tales on prison life in our native countries. Prison in Thailand is very different from prison life in the United States. Their life is very harsh.

When Poppa* and Dodi first started writing each other, he was at a pretty laid back facility. Dodi shared with me that he was on a soccer team and he sent me these two pictures.

Poppa* remembers one time that Dodi sent me this amazingly beautiful hand-made birthday card. It was very colorful and had buttons and bows and ribbons and all kinds of things on it. It was truly a work of art. The mail room at Club Neal would not let me have the card. They said it was contraband. I'm quite sure that whoever wrote it up just wanted to keep it for themselves. Haha. Owell, it is what it is. At least Poppa* got to view it for a couple of minutes and savor its beauty. Whoever stole it from Poppa* probably has it proudly displayed in their home.
