Relationship: Ms. Denault was introduced to Poppa* in 2009.  They corresponded while Poppa* was incarcerated. Actually, Ms. Denault is one of the main reasons that TFF is well and strong today. The Texas Department of Criminal Justice makes it very difficult for ex-felons returning to Society. When an Inmate is released from Texas prisons, they are only allowed to take with them one red bag of their personal possessions. Inmates are not told at the time that if they want their other possessions that the Inmate must pay for those possessions to be mailed to them. Poppa* had been laying the foundation for The Felony Foundation since 2005. He had countless notes, journals, address books, etc. outlining the development of TFF. When Poppa* left prison life behind, he had to leave 2 red bags of his personal property behind. In those bags were 7 years of information that Poppa* had assimilated in regards to TFF. When a Texas Inmate is released from TDCJ, they are given a $50 check (gate money) and when they get back to the County that they “fell out of”, and they meet with their Parole Officer, they are given another check for $50.00. That’s all they get. They are expected to re-create their life with $100.
 By the time that Poppa* was told that he would have to pay for the postage to mail his personal belongings to him, the $100 that he received from TDCJ had already been spent. TDCJ will only hold your items 30 days and then they are destroyed. Poppa* placed a telephone call to Ms. Denault and told her of his dilemma. She immediately agreed to contact TDCJ and arrange to pay for the shipment of Poppa*’s 2 red bags of personal items to the Dallas Transitional Center in Dallas, Texas. Poppa* and Ms. Denault continued to stay in touch when  Poppa* relocated to Dallas, Texas. Robin has visited Poppa* several times in Dallas and has invited Poppa* to visit her home in New York. Robin was voted by the Board of Directors of TFF to be Special Advisor to the Board. TFF made a cash donation of $50.00 to Blessing Beyond Bars on July 1, 2013. Ms. Denault sent TFF a cash donation in 2013.
